Depends on where the stock goes. The stock market doesn’t discriminate against person to person. Each stock has it’s value.

depends on how many shares a person owns

Millions of people all at once, no. Hundreds or a few thousand over time yes.

Millions is an exaggeration. For one most companies do not have millions of shares issued and outstanding. And for a capital gain to make some one a millionaire they would have to own more than a few shares.

I don’t know about “millions” but I know a lot of people made a lot of money off one stock…Qualcomm…back in the nineties.

No, It’s a little more complicated then that. First you have to spend money to make money. Spending a few hundred dollars on stocks will maybe make you a few thousand. If you want to get rich, you have to invest thousands of dollars. Then you have to pray like hell, that the market doesn’t crash, like it has, or you will loose everything. I worked for Walmart, when they first opened their stores. I bought thousands of dollars in stock. I paid about $1.50 a share. That stock today is worth $55.00 a share. That is how you make money.

I don’t think that’s possible even in the best of circumstances.
