When is one considered a millionaire or billionaire?
Filed Under Other - Business & Finance | 2 Comments
To be labeled a millionaire, does a person have to over a million dollars in liquid assets, or other assets? Eg real estate, government bonds, shares, motor vehicles. I was just wondering because I have friend who purchased a property that was just below the $1 mil mark, and they have numerous assets elsewhere, so would they be a millionaire?

I want to know how it feels to be a millionaire. Does the great feeling of becoming rich fades away? Would a millionaire admit that he needs more than just money in his life? Besides of having more money in your bank, what significantly changed before and after becoming a millionaire?
You dont have to be a millionaire to answer the question. Just answer one of the questions above.

16 year old needs advice on how to invest money earned from job?

Ok guys.. I am not on that get rich quick mentatility. I have listen to almost all Robert Kiyosaki audio books. I learned alot from him but alot of people here are shattering my hopes on being a millionaire. Most the rich have their money secured in real estate rather than 401k and CD accounts. So why when I read a question on yahoo answers about investing in real estate alot of people are saying you will lose money if you invest in real estate right now.. because the market is not in your favor.
I mean I was planning on saving all my money I make while living with my parents and from all I save invest it in something that will make some profit. But the way people on here talk its like theres no possible way to make alot of $$$ without winning the lottery or marrying a rich person.
Maybe this is why poor people stay poor cause they just looking for an easy way out.
Sim S and the_real_zip is exactly why I posted this question. Because of ignorant people like this. And just because you make **** of wages is not the reason you don’t have money.

If you never save for retirement, what happens to you? How much SHOULD you invest?
Filed Under Other - Business & Finance | 3 Comments
I’m only 25, but still at my age, I”ve just gone through lots of schooling, and spent all my money on things like housing, car, vacation, etc, all those frivolous things, and I never really saved, I’m n ot a millionaire, and I don’t have a 401K or any type of plan yet. I have lots of family friends, and I live with my partner, who has some of those things, but I’m starting to feel like maybe I should already have some sort of a plan.
Personally, I just don’t think that far in advance, because I could be dead by then, but just HOW important is saving for retirement.
Worst case scenario, if you have no plan, money, friends or family by then, will you end up being a homeless senior citizen, where do you technically end up?
I’m not familiar with the programs this country has, if any.
I’d like to start planning something, however it makes life SO monotone, everything is a plan. work, schooling, shopping, retirement,
it takes the FUN out of living. Blah.

My teacher said that my intellectual capacity is 13 going on 30. I always sort of feel like Bill Gates when it comes to money. But, as a teen- I have no idea how to become a successful millionaire. I wonder, is there such thing as stocks… For teenagers? I mean, I really want to invest my money in long term things, and my future goals are: to be an actress, a model, run for president, and retire leisurely in Bel Aire. Please help, and don’t criticize me.

My bank boasts that my deposits are insured up to $100,000 dollars. So do rich people have to split their fortunes up amongst a thousand banks? I invest in a 401k and an IRA, but seriously, if you’re making $42 million a year (like Peyton Manning) why invest at all. I know that the tax codes for this sort of thing must be mind-boggling when you factor in the charitable donations and endorsement deals, but are there companies out there that cater to the rich, with special deals and so forth? How do you protect a $200 million fortune? just curious.
